Daily Work
- Come up with 2 words that come to mind in order to describe the words CONFLICT & RESISTANCE (1 for conflict, 1 for resistance)
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create,trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". They should represent your best effort.

DA 8 - Share your conflict and resistance words with someone in the class. Discuss why they fit your definition. Then, hang them on the word wall.

DA 10 - What happens when art is at the center of conflict?
Objective: demonstrate understanding of the rule of thirds in composition
- Photo transfer - last step: carefully remove the paper, leaving the ink by rubbing it with a wet cloth.
- SKILL FOCUS: Composition is the deliberate arrangement of design elements in a pleasing or compelling manner. Learn some photography rules of composition that are really guidelines to effective arrangement of visual design elements.
- Collaboration on ideas for your piece! Then start sketching thumbnail sketches using the RULE OF THIRDS composition

CRITIQUE DAY!!!! This is not a Work Day.
1.Display your artwork - unfinished artwork is NOT displayed.
2. Get everything out of the way except your wkbk and a pencil.
3. Go outside and wait at the picnic table QUIETLY!
HOMEWORK - Reflect on and Analyze your piece. You need a photograph of your final piece and tracing paper. (HS ART 2 - do the full DAIJ in addition to the reflecting.)
Look at your piece and ANALYZE everything you see.
- How is the work constructed or planned (i.e., acts, movements, lines)?
- Identify some of the similarities throughout the work (i.e., repetition of lines, two songs in each act).
- Identify some of the points of emphasis in the work (i.e., specific scene, figure, movement).
- If the work has subjects or characters, what are the relationships between or among them?
