#inktober. Spend 5 minutes making a small ink drawing...leave it on Ms. Amy’s desk for upload to instagram!
Write and rate the objective:
I collaboratively create innovative (fresh) ideas for making art.
1 means you don’t know anything about it
5 means you could teach me about it!
This objective means we are going to work together to create some Keith Haring inspired artworks today that have your own special touch.
**Important Material Maintenance** Remember to ALWAYS use a protector paper between your artwork and the table when using permanent markers. ALSO, push the marker cap until it SNAPS!
1 die (singular dice) per person or per partner, roll 5 times to get 1 completed drawing. If you roll a 2 first, draw the head in your sketchbook that looks like the dog. If you roll a 3 second, add the crossed arms to the dog head. If you roll a 5 next, add the running legs to your crossed arms. Continue until you have a complete body!
2. Piet Mondrian meets Keith Haring!
In the Keith Haring movie, we learned that Keith Haring used simplified symbols to represent big themes like
love and war.
---------------------
Another artist, Piet Mondrian, simplified everything to straight lines and primary colors to represent universal harmony.
Now, redraw your favorite Roll a Haring on the colored cardstock. Fill the card! No small drawings! After drawing in pencil, outline it in marker, decorate it, then cut it out. Write your name on the back, then place it on the giant Piet Mondrian artwork with tape. (I’ll laminate later!)
3. LIFE SIZE KEITHHHHHS!
Use the butcher paper and a pencil to trace 1 person from your table in a funky position (add extra arms or the ‘‘ ’’ movement lines). Outline it in marker, then cut on the outside of the outline. Decorate using the dot markers. Write group names on the back.
Now reassess the objective! I collaboratively create innovative (fresh) ideas for making art.
